At Reade Street Prep, language immersion is foundational to our programming. The study and practice of learning a second language have proven to increase mental faculties such as memory, concentration, problem-solving, critical thinking, and multitasking. Research also shows that a second language even boosts a child’s creativity levels, allowing multi-dimensional thinking and creative expression beyond the boundaries that one language naturally sets.
Each student at RSP has the opportunity to spend half of their time in immersion Spanish classes. These classes follow the same curriculum and structure as English classes but are conducted entirely in Spanish language. You will be amazed at how quickly the students engage and thrive in a second language!
Dual Language at RSP
Our language teachers are native speakers, bringing not only deep linguistic experience but also regional intricacies and cultural knowledge as well. The curriculum continues through both languages for consistency and effectiveness. Your child’s English teachers work closely with their Spanish teachers to ensure they are continuously supported and challenged.
The schedule for dual language students varies depending on their age. Our Explorers classes alternate languages each week, spending a week in English class followed by a week in Spanish class. Our Discoverers classes split their day between languages, with half the day in English and the other half in Spanish.
